Hello there I wound like to know How did you get your job. Did you tell them abut your dyslexics before the hire you. Because my dyslexics is writting and reading thank good for spell check. Because I'm going to HR to show the kidz at my home town that have dyslexic, It does not stop you from the world.
I worked here in a 1 year industrial placement when I was a student. Because I was good at my job they sponsored me on my final year at university which meant I could come back here for a summer placement. While I was here over the summer they offered me a job on a good training scheme and it was to good to miss. So I accepted my BEng degree and will do the masters part time later on. I didn't actually apply for the job so there was no opportunity to claim my dyslexia. Because I am moving from dept to dept every month I am not telling people about my dyslexia. I have good coping skills and the work isn't that challenging so its not a issue. When I get a permanent dept at the end of the training I will own up to having it just so they now. By then they will of none me for over 3 years so they will now I am capable of doing the job even though I have dyslexia. In engineering most people are rubbish at spelling so I don't stand out to bad ;o)
Hi! I'm 21 and pursuing a BBA degree as well. I just cannot do any math, accounting or finance related subject, which are mandatory. I don't know what to do! I feel so helpless, I keep failing them.
Yeah I now what you mean about people judging you when they now your dyslexic. Its one reason why I told nobody at work until I get a permanent department here. The training department now but that is all. I don't work in business as such so can't rely suggest anything about what is best to do in it. I am a mechanical engineer just graduated last year. It tuck me a extra year to graduate because I had no school qualifications but I got there.
